YOUR DAY TO DAY :
To set-up, maintain, and perform a limited number of welding processes working with prints, specification sheets, and verbal instructions on generally routine production items under minimal supervision.

Machine and Equipment Used:

Hand tools, electric and gas welding equipment.

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR :

    \n
  • Welds aluminum metal components together with brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, and plant equipment
  • \n
  • Performs welding processes on aluminum parts and assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys
  • \n

  • Performs welding processes on aluminum parts and assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys

  • Must be able to pass aluminum welding certification tests
  • \n
  • Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding
  • \n
  • Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts
  • \n
  • Locates and repairs cracks in products and equipment
  • \n
  • Maintains clean work area
  • \n
  • Operates lathes, drill presses, mills, routers, grinning machines, duplicating, and profile machines, brakes and shears
  • \n
  • Determines layouts and welds parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications
  • \n
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
  • \n
  • Trains less experienced employees to build quality products within the time standard
  • \n
  • Participates in continuous improvement meetings, and shares knowledge for improvement actions
  • \n
  • Under minimal supervision, interprets drawings, sketches, and/or preliminary designs, and produces weldments from that interpretation
  • \n
  • Interacts with employees and managers across the company
  • \n
  • May need to operate a vehicle or forklift
  • \n
  • Work done with minimal supervision
  • \n
  • Work may be done without established procedures
  • \n
  • Performs other duties as needed and assigned.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex prints

  • Good eye/hand coordination
  • \n
  • Basic computer skills
  • \n
  • Must have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Must have the ability to follow safety practices
  • \n
  • Basic problem-solving skills
  • \n
  • Ability to learn how to use necessary computer tools
  • \n
  • Visual attention to detail
  • \n
  • Reliable hand strength and manual dexterity
  • \n
  • Three (3) years directly related work experience or two (2) years of concentrated welding training.
  • \n
  • High school Diploma or GED required, AA in welding.
  • \n
  • Able to lift to a maximum of 25-40 lbs.
  • \n
  • Able to sit/stand for long periods of time.
  • \n
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • \n

Salary Range: $22.00 - $26.00 / hour
