Job Title: Controller
Industry: Manufacturing & Construction
Compensation: 135,000 -150,000 Plus Bonus
We are a growing company operating across the manufacturing and construction sectors. With a strong pipeline of projects and steady year-over-year growth, we are looking for a hands-on Controller to lead the accounting function and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring experience from both manufacturing and construction environments and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, job costing, WIP schedules, inventory, and fixed assets.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across multiple entities and business units.
Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
Supervise and mentor the accounting staff (AP, AR, Payroll).
Ensure accurate job cost reporting and project profitability analysis.
Collaborate with project managers, operations, and executive leadership to support strategic goals.
Maintain and improve internal controls and financial procedures.
Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and banks as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
Industry experience in both manufacturing and construction is required.
Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP accounting, and project-based reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Epicor, Sage, or ERP systems.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to thrive in a growing, fast-paced, and hands-on environment.
