Job Title: Drone Operations Specialist Job Description We are searching for a skilled operator with extensive experience operating drones via Remote Control. The qualified candidate will act as an operations specialist, assisting in the development and testing of cutting‑edge safety‑related technologies. This role includes mission planning and lightweight maintenance duties. The ideal candidate should demonstrate attention to detail, a safety‑oriented attitude, flexibility, and enthusiasm for technology. Based near Boeing Field in South Seattle, the candidate will travel up to 75% of the time to various flight test sites. Responsibilities Operate drones via Remote Control, ensuring safety and precision. Assist in the development and testing of safety‑related technologies. Conduct mission planning and perform lightweight maintenance duties. Demonstrate attention to detail and a safety‑oriented attitude. Conduct limited operational readiness activities and logistics planning. Travel to various flight test sites up to 75% of the time. Essential Skills Current 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate. 2+ years of Remote Control pilot experience. Detailed knowledge of basic computer concepts and PC hardware/software troubleshooting. Solid knowledge of networks, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, and Windows Server networking. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk for 8‑10 hours with breaks, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach. Experience leading small teams. Valid Driver’s License and ability to meet driver eligibility criteria. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with the commercial UAS industry. Aviation safety experience as a Safety Officer or similar. Excellent business communications and reporting skills. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position requires working 5 days a week with an 8‑hour shift, starting at 1:00 PM and ending at 8:30 PM, though this can change. The work environment includes working in volatile weather conditions within established safety thresholds. A work vehicle will be provided for driving to offsite work locations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 – $38.00 /hr.
