Drone Operator Title: Support Engineer (Drone Operator) Location: Seattle, WA (training 2-3 weeks, then traveling) Duration: 6 months (possibility of extension/conversion) Pay Range: $31.00 - $33.00/hr Start Date: January Job Description This position seeks a skilled Part 107 certified operator with extensive experience operating drones via Remote Control. The individual will also conduct limited operation readiness activities and logistics planning as needed. The role requires cross‑team training to support teams such as delivery sites for pre‑launch tasks. Day to Day Responsibilities Travel—out of state up to 100% of the time. Remote‑control drone piloting. Data collection. Work night shift (3 pm–11:30 pm) with potential day shift. Operate in volatile weather conditions (e.g., snow) within established safety thresholds. Drive to off‑site work locations daily (work vehicle provided). Work variable shifts and schedules including weekends, as applicable. Schedule changes frequently depending on daylight conditions. Must Haves 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate. 2+ years of commercial drone piloting experience with larger commercial drones. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk up to 8–10 hours, and perform frequent pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching. Experience within the commercial UAS industry. Ability to fly in multiple modes beyond manual. Plusses Filming experience. FVP pilot. Photography. Videography. Gamming background. Preferred model: Pixhawk. FYI This is a six‑month contract role based in Seattle. Consultants begin in Seattle for the first 2–3 weeks covering their own lodging. After training, they will be deployed to another U.S. location with flight, lodging, car rental, and a $70 daily meal allowance provided. They will not return to Washington after the training period.
