Physiatrist & Medical Director - Mishawaka, IN

Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation
Services Provided: Comprehensive rehabilitation medicine, inpatient post-acute care, pain management, and multidisciplinary therapy programs.
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, board-certified Physiatrist to serve as Medical Director at a leading rehabilitation facility. This full-time position combines clinical care with administrative leadership responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience managing inpatient rehabilitation patients and will provide both direct patient care and oversight of medical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Physician Leadership: Ensure adequate physician coverage, oversee patient care services, and provide ongoing supervision of hospital medical staff.
Clinical Leadership: Guide evidence-based clinical management of rehabilitation patients and oversee the scope of clinical services provided.
Quality Assurance: Establish and participate in quality improvement systems, review clinical appropriateness, support infection control policies, and promote patient safety.
Education & Communication: Foster a learning culture by educating and informing staff, patients, and families. Represent the hospital to professional and community stakeholders.
Administration: Collaborate with hospital administration, provide written reports as needed, and assist with compliance for regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
MD or DO degree with active, unrestricted state medical license.
Board-certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
Minimum 2 years of training or experience in inpatient rehabilitation medicine.
Active participation in Medicare and Medicaid programs.
Current controlled substances registration and professional liability insurance.
Must maintain good standing with hospital medical staff and comply with hospital bylaws and regulations.
No history of criminal conviction (minor infractions excluded).
