LanceSoft is seeking a travel nurse RN Manager for a travel nursing job in Klawock, Alaska.

Job Type: Contract (13 weeks);;;
Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, plus after-hours on-call for Treatment Room;;;
Licensure Requirement: Alaska RN License required ;;;
Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS (TNCC preferred)
Minimum Experience: 4 years RN experience (2 years in specialty as staff RN; 1 year in supervisory role)
EMR: Meditech
Housing/Travel: Not provided (must live 50+ miles from facility)

 

Position Summary

The Nurse Manager oversees primary care clinic nursing operations and nursing case management, including chronic disease and specialty care services. This role provides leadership, supervises nursing and support staff, ensures high-quality patient care, and coordinates services across all age groups. The Nurse Manager also ensures compliance with clinical standards, participates in quality improvement activities, and facilitates staff development.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate total nursing care for patients of all ages.
  • Implement SEARHC case management model, including patient follow-up and provider communication.
  • Administer therapeutic measures and maintain competency in outpatient procedures (IV therapy, immunizations, minor surgical assistance, phlebotomy, EKG, etc.).
  • Maintain sterile technique and safe clinical environment.
  • Operate specialized clinic equipment and Meditech EMR.
  • Participate in and lead quality improvement activities and competency assessments.
  • Develop nursing policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Provide staff orientation, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Act decisively in emergency situations.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, equipment, and supplies for clinic needs.

Qualifications

Education:

  • BSN, Diploma, or Associate Degree in Nursing

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years professional nursing experience
  • At least 2 years as a staff RN in specialty area
  • At least 1 year with supervisory responsibilities

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Active, unrestricted RN license in Alaska (required)
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS (TNCC preferred)

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong clinical nursing skills across diverse patient populations
  • Understanding of Alaska Native cultural considerations in healthcare delivery
  • Leadership, mentoring, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in patient care equipment operation and EMR use
