Fleet Truck Manager Job Description

This is a fast pace and a very strong leadership requirement job, as the work ambient will requiere a highly and determined attitude to make things happen no matter what.

The work consist to execute the deliveries of goods trough the entire Rio Grande Valley as per dispatch department schedule.

Responsabilities of this job position includes: hiring, training, scheduling and coordinating drivers. Direct communication with dispatcher department on a daily basis to schedule the following day deliveries. Ability to work in a fast-paced job, which requires extreme attention to detail. Monitor trucks and drivers once they’re en route, and help if an issue arises. Manage, schedule and perform all daily pre-trip, post-trip and maintenance inspections to schedule workloads to Mechanic department as needed.

- Cost control for all operational expenses.

- Billing issuance for all deliveries.

- Reports: Prepare reports on a daily basis for: cost control, delivery performance and maintenance performance.

Skills and Qualifications

  • CDL Class A or B is a PLUS and will be taken in consideration on compensation
  • Knowledge of trucking regulations and laws
  • Understanding of how shipping, trucking and logistics work
  • Analytical skills to problem-solve and coordinate difficult situations
  • Technology skills, particularly in transportation management software
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly relay information to all involved parties
  • Ability to stay calm in fast-paced situations

Experience requirements

Three to Five years of relevant experience. This might be in, logistics, supply chain fields but preferably in trucking industry management positions.

Education and training requirements

CDL Class A or B, High school diploma, associate’s or bachelor’s degree. Common degree fields include logistics, transportation or supply chain management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year

  • 10 hour shift
  • 12 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Night shift
  • Overtime
  • Weekends as needed
