SUMMARY This position is responsible for operating welding equipment to build high quality parts, subassemblies, and finished product. Weldments vary in type, size, and direction and are performed on a variety of production lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES \n - Must receive a passing score on the Welder Qualification test and recertify skills as required by program guidelines
\n - Operate an overhead crane to maneuver parts safely into place
\n - Adjust welding current to proper weld configurations
\n - Heats and forms metal parts and components using hand tools, torch or welding equipment
\n - Welds components in flat, vertical or overhead positions
\n - Accurately operate and read measuring devices
\n - Assemble and weld various metal parts together
\n - Properly position material/parts to be welded
\n - Train and work in various areas of production in response to production demands
\n - Follow verbal and written work instructions including ability to read blue prints
\n - Attention to detail necessary to adhere to quality standards
\n - Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
\n - Work in both team and individual settings
\n - Regular attendance required
\n - All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 6 plus months of welding experience either through education or work

\n - 1 plus year(s) of welding experience in a manufacturing industry
